Everyone is getting excited for the holidays. Please remember, presents are great but many gifts are free & lasting. Here are some suggestions:
To put aside time everyday, more time for listening without criticism or advice.
To make sure everyday that your children not only know you love them, but that you like them too for all their likable characteristics.
To give over more responsibility to your children so they can grow & become independent.
To show tolerance so that open-mindedness will be admired.
To control anger so that moderation & patience will be valued.
To show compassion to instill kindness & respect for others.
Some book suggestions are: Chica Chica Boom Boom, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? The Napping House, Good Night Moon, Good Night Gorilla, & Pete The Cat.
Some game suggestions are: Memory, Candyland, Lady Bug Counting, Leap Frog games, and puzzles. Playing board games helps with fine motor skills.
Your child uses scissors at school to do projects. Many continue to need practice cutting and holding the paper. Make some paper chains for holiday decorating. Get the Play Dough out and practice rolling and using cookie cutters. These activities strengthen their hand muscles and are fun family activities.
I want to wish all our Pre-K families a wonderful and joyous holiday. Take time to relax & enjoy being together sharing old traditions or making new ones.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
Just a reminder that when we have a 2 hr. delay, our morning students do NOT attend. When we have early dismissal because of weather, our Pre-K students are held until the rest of the school is dismissed. They will receive lunch & you may pick them up if you prefer they not ride the bus. Please be sure blue cards are updated with any new phone numbers or people to whom your child may be released.
Have you checked out the Pre-K website recently? There are pictures of all the fun we had at Live 2 Bounce, Halloween pictures, & Fall Family Fun Day are there, too.
