Dear School Community,

The time has come to say goodbye to all of you as I begin my retirement. It is truly an honor to have served as Superintendent of the Camden Central School District. Working as a teacher, principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent of this progressive District has been a wonderful experience and I shall cherish the memories forever.  I want to thank the entire school community, as well as the community at large, for putting their faith in my leadership over the years.

Through working together we have been able to accomplish much growth through some of the most tumultuous times in the area of New York State Education.  We have a graduation rate of 91 percent at our high school.  There are two years of college courses offered to our students at Camden High School. Our students are enjoying project based learning and hands on instruction along with many opportunities for community service and internships. We have added a credit union to our high school, a broadcasting program, and multiple opportunities for entrepreneurship.

We have enjoyed many successes in athletics including league titles and state competition.  The area of STEAM has increased our awareness of jobs in this area.  All of our students will receive free lunch and breakfast this year.  We have a NY State weather station, solar power initiative, literacy initiative, and beautiful facilities including the new fitness center.  For the second year in a row, we have received the National Bronze Award from US News and World Report and the NAMM award for music in our schools and communities. We have teams in Science Olympiad and Odyssey of the Mind that are very competitive.  Our students learn about robotics, drones, and realistic business experiences.   As a community we are dreaming big for our students!

I am proud of the work that this school community has accomplished.  This is a strong foundation that will spurn future growth and success for the Camden Central School District.  It was truly a privilege to serve as your superintendent.  Although these have been some of the best years of my life, I am looking forward to the next chapter where I can enjoy spending time with my husband of 36 years, our family, and our grandchildren!

On Friday, December 22, I will walk out of the doors, knowing that I will miss all of you, but also knowing that this District is well taken care of by a wonderful Board of Education, Administrators, Teachers, Support Staff, Parents and Community who focus on students. My colleague, Dr. Jeffrey K. Bryant, will be the interim superintendent until the Board of Education completes its search for a new superintendent.  I wish you all the best today, tomorrow, and always.
