24 Units Collected at Fall Blood Drive
Posted Date: 11/02/26 (03:12 PM)
On Tuesday, October 27th, Camden High School held its annual Fall Blood Drive in the school’s auxiliary gymnasium. The American Red Cross was on hand to administer the donation process, which featured a total of 24 units collected from students and staff. Among those units, 10 came from first time donors, which are important to growing the available supply. Additionally, 13 units were supplied by Power Red donors. Power Red is a unique process that allows a donor to give about double the red blood cells of a normal donation, while returning platelets, plasma, and saline back to the body using a centrifuge to separate the components. It can be utilized for Type O, Type A Negative, and Type B Negative donors, which are the types most utilized by hospitals.
Students and staff are encouraged to give if they are willing and able to do so. The next chance will happen on April 28th, 2027 during the Spring Blood Drive.
