The Millrose Games represent one of track and field’s biggest stages outside of the Olympic Games. Established in 1908, the Games welcome the best and brightest in the sport to New York City to compete at iconic venues such as its classic home at Madison Square Garden, and in the present day, the lightning-fast Nike Track and Field Center at the Armory. It has earned widespread notoriety through national television coverage, and a total of six world indoor records have been set at the meet by top stars such as Carl Lewis.
On Saturday, February 8th, Camden’s own Dillan Melchiore ‘22 will have the opportunity to make his own mark on the Games after winning multiple NAIA national championships. A junior at NAIA powerhouse University of the Cumberlands, Melchiore will be competing in the USA Track and Field sponsored men’s one mile race walk at 1:47 PM. He will be part of an invitational field of ten competitors from all over the world vying for bragging rights and access to a potential endorsement deal.
This year’s games are sold out. Interested supporters can view live coverage of the meet for a fee at https://millrosegames.runnerspace.com/eprofile.php?event_id=574&do=videos&video_id=413016
The stream will include Dillan’s event along with everything prior to the NBC television window that starts at 4 PM.
