The Camden girls’ varsity bowling team certainly upheld its tradition as a perennial Section III contender on Sunday, February 9th. The Blue Devils secured a second place finish in Division II, and a third place finish in Class B at the 2025 Section III Girls’ Bowling Championships held at Flamingo Bowl in Syracuse. Camden had a total score of 2,928 in the tournament.
The Blue Devils were at their strongest in the second game of a four game series with a 773.
Senior Sarah Marshall was the team’s top bowler with a 632 series to place 27th among all bowlers in all divisions and classes. Classmate Matt Melancon rolled a 602 series and finished with a high mark of 165 en route to 34th place. Sophomore Pietra Van Der Werff closed with the team’s second highest game to finalize a 594 series and place 38th. Seventh grader Regann Janes offered an exciting preview of Camden’s future in the sport with the team’s high game, a 179. Janes was 42nd in the final standings with a 580 series. Senior Xenia Kirby had a total pinfall of 520 to place 54th.
The Blue Devils have been in the top three places in their class and in their division in the last six Section III tournaments to be held, dating back to 2018.
