Happy first day of JV and Varsity practices for soccer, cross country, tennis, field hockey, and cheerleading! Reach out to your coaches or the athletic office if you have any questions about the logistics of starting practice. As a friendly reminder, there is a mandatory player, parent/guardian information meeting for 2024 fall sports set to take place on Thursday, 8/29 in the Camden High School Auditorium at 6 PM. The event will provide information and set expectations for the upcoming season. All Fall student-athletes from all levels, and their parents/guardians, should attend. The guest speaker for the general session will be Kirk Ventiquattro. Locally, you may remember Kirk as the head coach of the Carthage boys' varsity lacrosse team for 30 years, where he coached multiple hall of famers. The new CHS Stadium Press Box is here! It was brought in by flatbed from Kentucky. It replaces an aging structure and will also allow staffing of games on the stadium field, and the multi-purpose field from the same facility!

The Blue Devils are back. Preseason football camp opened yesterday with an intense practice. Mark those calendars and join us for the 2024 Home Opener on Friday, September 6th as the Varsity takes on Schuylerville out of Section II. 7 PM kick.

Inside and out, the press box at the new varsity baseball field housed at Camden Middle School is beginning to take shape. We've been able to have some activity on the field this spring and summer, but this is where the project will really go to the next level with an operations level on the second floor, and the ability to run a concession stand adjacent to the stands on the first floor. The field sports an artificial turf infield and natural grass outfield, and we will say from experience today that the outfield drainage is performing quite well with the substantial rain we've had in the past few days.

The Camden Girls' Soccer program had a watch party on Friday for the women's bronze medal match between Germany and Spain! They were treated to a thriller where Germany went ahead in the 64th minute, and had to withstand a stoppage time penalty from Spain to secure the win.

A message from the Camden Basketball Boosters: ATTENTION ALL BASKETBALL ALUMNI!!! The Camden Basketball Boosters have an exciting opportunity for all that have played on the court in the Camden High School gymnasium! As many of you may know, the basketball floor is being replaced. They will be selling the old floor in 16"x16" pieces for $20 each. If you are interested in purchasing a piece of the outgoing floor please send a message to the Camden Basketball Boosters Facebook page to reserve your piece! Please provide your last name to them, and the years you played varsity basketball. Time is limited for them to get pieces of the floor for this project so they need info by Friday July 12, 2024. The Boosters will provide more details (payment, delivery, etc), in the near future.

It may be July, but we still have a student-athlete competing for Camden! Garrett Wines '24 of the Camden High School Clay Target Team is out in Mason, Michigan to compete at the USA High School Clay Target League National Championships! Good luck, Garrett!!

June 5th is a special day for the Camden Central School District athletic department, as nine senior student-athletes will sign letters of intent or commitment forms to compete at the collegiate level in their chosen sport as part of a signing ceremony held at 5 PM in the Camden High School Main Gym. The following athletes will be celebrated: Thomas Hollibaugh, Soccer, SUNY Morrisville Layla Killino, Basketball/Softball, Jefferson Community College Avery Prievo, Softball, SUNY Cobleskill Trey O’Rourke, Football, SUNY Morrisville Elizabeth Hunley, Track and Field, SUNY Oswego Gabrielle Croniser, Field Hockey, Roberts Wesleyan Rhyanne Johnson, Field Hockey, SUNY Oswego Emily Bird, Field Hockey, York College Devin Plourde, Baseball, Onondaga Community College Members of the school community are welcome to attend as we celebrate this important milestone.
