The Camden Central School District is pleased to open registration for the Kindergarten Boot Camp and Brain Gain Institute Summer Programs. Both programs will run over a two-week period from July 29th to August 8th, Monday through Thursday, from 9 AM to 1 PM at Camden Elementary School.
Kindergarten Boot Camp is for students entering Kindergarten at Camden Elementary or McConnellsville Elementary, while Brain Gain Institute is for students entering 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, or 4th Grade at Camden Elementary or McConnellsville Elementary.
Both programs operate at no cost to families. Breakfast and lunch are included during each day of the program, and bus transportation can be provided for each student as well.
Please complete registration no later than June 20th.

Kindergarten Boot Camp
The Kindergarten Boot Camp is a two week "bridge" program for students who are set to enter Kindergarten at McConnellsville or Camden Elementary in September 2024. The program is run at no cost to families.
The program is designed to prepare students for the transition into Kindergarten.
Students will participate in learning centers and play based activities to boost reading, early math and science / exploration skills as well as working on the social and emotional skills necessary for success in Kindergarten. Students will explore a variety of activities with teacher-designed projects and stories in a learn through play environment.
The program is being offered during the summer to reinforce kindergarten skills like letter recognition, writing their first and last names, number and shape recognition, and cutting as well as preparing students for center-based learning.
The program is staffed by certified teachers from the Camden Central School District. In some cases, your student may even have the chance to build a relationship with their upcoming classroom teacher before the year begins.

Brain Gain Institute
The Brain Gain Institute is a two-week program for Camden Elementary and McConnellsville Elementary students who, in September 2024, are entering 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, or 4th Grade. The program is run at no cost to families. The program is designed to review grade-level skills while preparing students for the next grade level. Activities are centered around reading, writing and mathematics.
The program is staffed by certified teachers from the Camden Central School District. In some cases, your student may even have the chance to build a relationship with their upcoming classroom teacher before the year begins.
