For our eighth grade students, the time has come to start thinking about their path in High School. On Friday, January 24th, Camden High School played host to members of the Class of 2029 to help them understand the opportunities available to them starting next year. Groups of eighth grade students rotated through different departments around the building to meet their upcoming teachers and get more information about classes offered at the high school level.
The hope is to help each student make informed decisions about their course load that will fit their interests and aspirations.
Accompanying each group of students were members of Camden High School student leadership, who were available to answer any questions from a student’s perspective. Participating members included Calli Evans, Jade Barringer, Madison Hildenbrandt, Hailey Hicks, Gage Grinnell, Piper Snyder, Mackenzie Keil, Brooklyn Waterman, Bella Keller, Alex Mitchell, Adam Orsino, Natalya Farr, Madison Fuller, Katie Phelps, Lainie Liberatore, Brodie Buckingham, and Hannah Smith.
Before setting out on their tour, the eighth graders enjoyed lunch in the CHS cafeteria, and received a warm welcome from a familiar face, principal Aaron Fiorini.
“We want to give you as much information as possible,” Fiorni said to the group. “When you come here, the clock starts ticking. It all starts with your schedule. If you have a schedule that you enjoy and classes that you like are more likely to come to school and be engaged in school. That’s why we’re doing this.”
