Greenhouse management students got to enjoy some fresh air today while taking Oaklyn for a "potty break." For context: Oaklyn indeed did not use the restroom but instead decided to grab a snack(rock.) Thankfully Talon is experienced with this snacking dilemma and saved Oaklyn from a belly ache.
Let's take a moment to acknowledge some of our very special guest stars from last weekend's performances. First, the youth ensembles.
Because of the makeup of the script, the show "Oliver!" provides our elementary and middle school students with a unique chance to be part of the company with the high school students. It's challenging and rewarding at the same time. This group of approximately 35 students had the responsibility to set the tone for the show with the opening number, and they exceeded the standard set before them.
Whether it's in a middle school or high school production, we look forward to seeing all of you on stage again soon!

On Monday, March 4th, Camden Music Teacher Joseph Perrotta represented the Camden Central School District and New York State School Music Association at the 51st Annual Joseph R. Sugar NYSSMA Advocacy Day at Albany's Empire State Plaza.
The event occurs during March, which is known as "Music in Our Schools Month" across New York State. During this time, NYSSMA arranges a day in Albany for music educators to meet with State Legislators. Each zone works collaboratively with NYSSMA to schedule times with their assembly members and senators in Albany to discuss current issues and how they may affect music programs for students. This is also an opportunity to express gratitude for continued support of music education.

Grades 7-12 are eligible. Please note a Middle School athlete must pass the APP test for varsity tennis competition. High Schoolers can see Mr. Mazzaferro with questions. Operation Save Humpty Dumpty! Mrs. Lapier's 9th period science class completed their egg drop challenge today! Students researched different designs, created their own designs, and built their contraptions using everyday household materials. Overall students had a great learning experience and lots of fun. Congrats to our winners!

Due to the snow day, the previously scheduled FFA Week staff appreciation pancake breakfast was held on Friday at CMS. FFA advisor Karly Marshman put on her chef's hat and made pancakes for all staff and students that entered the Agriculture room today. Chocolate chip, blueberry, and plain pancakes were topped with whipped cream and New York maple syrup. This event was held as a way for the FFA program to show its appreciation for all that the CMS staff does to support the Agriculture program and to share what FFA is all about.

Greenhouse Management students are currently growing aeroponic strawberries! Each pair of students are in charge of maintaining the tower gardens PH, Nutrients, Water Level, and pollination!
