New year, new books! Here is just a small selection of our new books that were delivered to the Middle School Media Center this week.
As students eagerly left the classroom for winter break they got an early Christmas surprise from the agriculture aeroponic systems. The green beans the students planted over a month ago finally produced the first batch of deliciousness. The students got the opportunity to taste a fresh green bean straight from the plant! The left over parts of the green beans were not wasted but fed to the class Guinea Pig Frank for a delicious snack as well!
Mrs. Johnson's fifth grade reading class made snowman ornaments to get ready for the holidays!
Feature Book Friday (One Day Early)! Today's book is by Harry Potter Author JK Rowling. In this story Jack, a young boy, loses his best friend, a stuffed animal named Dur Pig. Jack and his new toy, the Christmas Pig, go on a magical journey to find his best friend.
Not only do students prosper and grow in the agriculture classroom so do the plants! The photos show the blossoms of cucumbers and peas! The flowers mean they are close to producing cucumbers and peas!
Mrs Potter's classes learned about the tradition of Bûche de Noël in France and Tió de Nadal in northern Spain this week and created their own to bring home!

Published as a companion to our existing Camden Connections newsletter, this new 30 page publication features more photos, a chance to look back on community events and student achievements, and feature stories you won't find anywhere else!

The agriculture classroom is in the holiday spirit! Local community supporters of Camdens Agriculture Program donated conifer boughs and flowers to be used in centerpieces and Christmas decorations. The students absolutely loved making the decorations! Magic happens when community and students work hand in hand!
Tuesdays mean puppies in the media center. Lewis Manor Labradoodles came with puppies of all ages for the 8th graders today.
Due to today's snow day, the "Sprinkles and Sparkles" Cookie Decorating event at CMS is once again postponed. It is now rescheduled for Tuesday, 12/20 at 6:30 p.m. in the Middle School cafeteria. The agriculture elective educated not only 7th and 8th grade students today but also 5ths grade Winning CMS students! Students learned where Christmas trees come from and how byproducts are used!
5th grade students in Mrs. Walsh's science classes have completed a Project Based Learning Unit and will be growing and planting a pollinator garden at CMS this year! Today, they presented to the other 5th grade science classes asking for their help with the planting this spring. The students learned a lot of useful information and we can't wait to see the garden that the plant out front of the school!
This Week's Featured Book Friday is The Enola Holmes Mysteries series. The first two books have been made into popular Netflix movies featuring Millie Bobby Brown. We have the entire series in our Camden Middle School Media Center.
Not only do the donated flowers get used for arrangements but also for special projects. The students learned to make sugar scrubs with real rose petals today! Not only was the agriculture room smelling amazing, the students were glowing with joy!
The Camden Central School District has canceled all after school activities today, Thursday, December 15, 2022.

It's Tuesday, that can only mean one thing -- puppies! The puppies from Lewis Manor Labradoodles come visit each grade level on a rotating basis. Today it was 5th grade's turn.
Creativity and learning go hand in hand when working with flowers. Thanks to LaRobardiere Funeral Home in Camden NY agriculture students are able to learn to make a variety of florals arrangements. The students look forward to making arrangements and learning new skills to apply!
Celebrate the Holidays with CMS! Spirit Week starts FRIDAY!
What is red, round, and is being grown in the agriculture classroom? STRAWBERRIES! The agriculture electives and the Agriculture Club are working on growing fresh strawberries in the Tower Gardens! In June we should have beautiful red berries!
