Our world is smaller than ever. Our Media Center staff have overheard the students chattering about the hurricanes in the last week, between Helene and Milton. So in order to keep students informed, Mrs. Britton decided to put up a display with some of the fiction and nonfiction books we have in our collection. Knowledge is power!
Camden High School FFA has been more than BUSY the past few weeks! Ms. Curtis took 9 students to SUNY Cobleskill for their "High School Day!" Many students practiced and competed in Career Development Mock Events and attended various tours. Let's just say, many Camden FFA members are in LOVE with SUNY Cobleskill!
Ms. Curtis took a bus load of students to a NYS FFA Officer tour visit to "Tim's Pumpkin Patch!" Students participated in various leadership and team building activities. Some students even got 1:1 time with NYS FFA Officers! Students are "ecstatic" about the amazing opportunities Ms. Curtis is providing students through Camdens new high school agriculture program and FFA Chapter!
Five Camden high school FFA officers attended COLT conference at Cornell University on October 5th with Ms. Curtis! Today, October 2nd, is National Custodian Day. Let's take a moment to recognize the hard work our dedicated facilities team does every day to ensure our students and staff have a clean and safe place to do their daily activities. Across the entire facilities team, they do nearly 70,000 combined hours of work annually to keep our buildings clean, our grass cut, and a variety of physical plant items in working order.
Mrs. Willson's 6th grade homeroom at CMS has spent some time making "mail" for veterans that will be on the Honor Flight from Syracuse on September 28th. Each veteran will receive at least four pieces of mail from Camden. Honor Flight Syracuse flies Central NY heroes & military veterans to Washington, DC to visit & reflect at their memorials.
