BLUE DEVIL NEW STAFF SPOTLIGHT
In the coming weeks, we’ll introduce you to members of our Blue Devil family who are new, or are changing roles between buildings for the school year.
Today, we’ll introduce you to Anna Buehler! Anna is teaching second grade in a co-taught classroom at Camden Elementary School alongside Haley Bottini.
Anna is new to Camden, but grew up locally. She is a graduate of Oriskany Central, and earned her degrees from SUNY Brockport and Capella University. She comes to us with four years of teaching experience across the Brookfield, Mount Markham, and Utica school districts.
Her favorite thing about working in education is helping students to reach their full potential and meet their goals, and she is passionate about working with children and creating a welcoming classroom atmosphere. She has found the atmosphere to be quite welcoming, and is also excited to work with her father, who you may see around the building as one of our School Patrol Officers from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office!
Outside of work, Anna enjoys camping, reading, and spending time with her dogs and family. She also enjoys playing softball and ice hockey. While in high school, she made history in the latter as a member of Oneida County’s first girls’ high school ice hockey team, formed through a cooperative effort led by the Clinton School District.
We’re looking forward to seeing how your second graders grow this year! Welcome!

Mrs. Keller and Mrs. Littler's class has started off the year with several books about confidence and having a positive self-image, so they did a little follow-up activity. They had their first graders open and "peek" into a box to see what their best gift ever was. And the answer? Their students! The box had a mirror inside!

Friday was Pajama Day in Mrs. Cochran's class at CES!

Spirit Week schedules for our Elementary Schools have been posted! These are the officially recognized observances ratified by the student council at each of the elementary buildings. MS and HS listings are coming as soon as they are available to us.

BLUE DEVIL NEW STAFF SPOTLIGHT
In the coming weeks, we’ll introduce you to members of our Blue Devil family who are new, or are changing roles between buildings for the school year.
Today, we highlight our brand new Speech Pathologist, Casey Seckner! Casey is adding the title of “Camden CSD Employee” to her four years as a Camden CSD resident and parent this year. Casey is housed at Camden Elementary School in her new assignment. She joins us after over 20 years of service with our neighbors in the Central Square School District.
She received her undergraduate degree from SUNY Cortland, and her graduate degree from Ithaca College.
Her favorite thing about being in education is, in her words, “Working with a team to help students progress toward their goals.”
She says she’s loved living here in the District for the past four years. As a parent, she has especially enjoyed the activities her son is involved in here, and has found getting to know the amazing students and staff involved in our plays and musicals to be a great experience.
When she’s not supporting students in some way, she can be found cheering for the Syracuse Orange, Buffalo Bills, and the 27 time world champion New York Yankees with her family and friends.

In the coming weeks, we’ll introduce you to members of our Blue Devil family who are new, or are changing roles between buildings for the school year.
Today, we highlight Camden Elementary first grade teacher Chloe Cochran. She is a new employee, but is very familiar with the District as a 2019 CHS graduate. In her time as a student, she was part of the Camden volleyball program. After high school, she moved on to receive her degree from SUNY Brockport.
Her favorite thing about being an educator is watching her students learn something new.
“Watching my students' faces light up when they learn and comprehend something new,” she said. “They make me feel so happy every second of every day. We are all always learning something new, even me. Knowing that they continue to strive to be the best they can be makes me so proud.”
Her favorite thing about Camden is the warm and welcoming staff, a group that has most certainly welcomed her back with open arms.
When she’s not working with her energetic first graders, she loves spending time with her husband and their four dogs. She is also passionate about going to the gym and SHOPPING! You might also see her at our local Tops Supermarket, where she has continued in her role as an assistant office manager. She loves to see her students there!
We’ve said it before, and we’re glad to say it again. Welcome home!

Friendly Reminder: The Look at Me, I'm Three program will meet on Wednesday, 9/18 at 5:30 at CES. If you haven't already done so, and would like your child to attend, contact Patti Ferretti at pferretti@camdencsd.org as soon as possible.
This program is for students who will be Pre-K eligible for the 2025-26 school year. To attend Look at Me I'm Three this year, they must have their third birthday on or before December 1st, 2024. Mrs. Ferretti can answer any questions you have.

On Friday, Mrs. Cochran's class at CES was rocking some of their favorite sports apparel!

Students in Mrs. Kowalski’s 3rd Grade Class at CES are enjoying “Flashlight Friday!” They grab their favorite book, a flashlight and book buddy and enjoy some independent reading by the "campfire"! They even have some folding camp chairs for the full experience.

This week is National Arts in Education Week! We're grateful to have a school community that supports our students in their artistic pursuits, and a group of staff and students that consistently create top-notch work in the visual and performing arts!
When you come to a concert, play, musical, or art show, you let our staff and students know that their work matters greatly, so we hope to see you at these events throughout the year!

Getting ready to start first grade is always exciting, and in the blink of an eye, we're now about to finish our first full week of school!

Today, we welcome Camden Elementary School music teacher Scott Ferrare!
Scott, a Rome native, brings some very expansive and diverse experience to his position in Camden. He is a graduate of SUNY New Paltz and Hunter College. He has taught in the small town of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, the city of Tacoma, Washington, and has also taken on assignments in Vietnam and Saudi Arabia!
His favorite thing about his career in education is connecting music knowledge with fun activities for his young learners. Some things he has enjoyed about Camden so far include the fresh air, nice people, and the spacious lands across the countryside.
When he’s not teaching, Scott is quite a dedicated musician and enjoys writing music of his own!

In the coming weeks, we’ll introduce you to members of our Blue Devil family who are new, or are changing roles between buildings for the school year.
Today, we say hello to Mrs. Rebecca Wallace, who is joining us as a special education teacher working with third and fourth grade students at Camden Elementary. She is a 1997 graduate from nearby Adirondack Central School. She completed her undergraduate studies at Geneseo, and her Masters degree from Michigan State University.
Mrs. Wallace just might also answer to “Mrs. Worldwide”, as she has gained a wealth of international experiences. She has been in Switzerland, Singapore, and China over the years, but is also very excited to return to her home state. That said, she still loves to travel!
She is passionate about helping students grow. Her favorite thing about Camden so far is the helpful and caring people around her. When she’s not working with our students, she’s probably hiking, singing, drawing, or on an adventure somewhere!
We’re glad you came back and are close to home! Welcome, Mrs. Wallace!

A new classroom carpet makes a great gathering place for Mrs. Cochran's first grade class!

Thursday nights are Open House nights for the rest of September!
In addition, there will be Title I stakeholder meetings at 5:30 PM at the start of both Elementary School open house events. See this link for details!: https://www.camdenschools.org/article/1751503
