Camden Elementary is dancing their way into the holidays! 🎄
On the evening of Thursday, 12/21, the Connected Community Schools team will be hosting Open Hub hours at CHS! Contact information for the site coordinators is included in the attached image if you have questions.
As the students in room 54 got into the holiday spirit, they made some holiday Chex mix!
They used their skills of measuring, reading directions, working cooperatively in a group and improvising the recipe. Tasty fun & learning was had by all.
4th graders from Miss Lis's IFA group finished putting together their zines. Great job!
Mrs. Bottini's class at CES recently made Gingerbread Houses! This was a new experience for many students in the class, and they'd like to thank the many families who donated "construction materials" for the students to use.
Third graders practice rounding to the nearest ten, while reviewing some units of measurement. Students rounded amounts water using milliliters, bags of beans in grams, and lengths of classroom objects in centimeters.
Next week, Camden Elementary Kindergarten students will be “traveling around the world” to different countries to see how others celebrate their winter holidays. Miss Leone’s class had their first stop in Africa, where they learned all about Kwanza and made a special Unity Cup! They look forward to going to 4 other countries next week!
CES Orchestra students have been working hard to earn the Jingle Bells Challenge this month! All of these students have performed Jingle Bells for Mrs. Guhin and completed the challenge! Since September, students have been learning correct posture, bow hold, steady beat, intonation and note reading. Congratulations to everyone who achieved this goal!
Connected Community Schools is hosting a craft night at Camden Middle School on Thursday! RSVP to the number in the flyer if you're coming.

On Thursday, Camden Elementary School celebrated Holiday Family Night!
A highlight of the evening was a new edition of the CES Masked Reader Initiative, featuring an appearance by the actual Grinch! Our students also got to meet with Santa to make any last-minute requests.
At this point, the Grinch probably is just asking Santa if he can be out of trouble. It's a big ask, but maybe he'll come through.
Who was our reading grinch? You'll see a video later today so you can start guessing, and the grand reveal will happen right before break!
To celebrate Computer Science Education week, students in all grade levels at Camden Elementary learned a little about coding. They had fun and learned while playing various online coding games such as "Beaver Achiever" and "Code Boogie".
