One of the longest-running and most successful Off-Broadway productions of all time will make its way to the Camden High School stage this weekend. CHS is pleased to present the smash hit sci-fi musical comedy “Little Shop of Horrors” on Friday, March 3rd, and Saturday, March 4th in the Camden High School Auditorium.
There will be three showtimes offered for all in the community to enjoy. Friday’s opening night performance will be at 7 pm. Saturday will feature two performances with a 2 p.m. matinee, and a 7:30 p.m. evening performance. Admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to reserve their opportunity to attend by emailing musicaltix@camdencsd.org, or calling by phone at 315-245-5315.
Little Shop of Horrors is the story of a meek floral assistant named Seymour Krelborn. Seymour stumbles across a new breed of plant, which he names "Audrey II" - after his coworker crush. As it turns out, this discovery is anything but ordinary, as “Audrey II” turns out to be a loud mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore who is interested in chasing world domination.
This show is the brainchild of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, who have lent their creative direction to numerous Disney-produced films and musicals.
The show stars senior Gianni Liberatore as Seymour, sophomore Calli Evans as Audrey, sophomore Owen Carr as Orin Scrivello, DDS, and Annaka Stauring as Mr. Mushnik. It is produced under license by Music Theatre International.
