CAMDEN, NY - Three members of the Camden High School varsity baseball program were chosen as individual award winners, while eight student-athletes were chosen to the Tri-Valley League’s Pioneer Division All-Stars as the league made its annual baseball awards announcement on Tuesday, June 8th. 

 

The awards come on the heels of another successful campaign where the Blue Devils posted a 13-8 record en route to season’s conclusion in the Section III Class A Quarterfinals. 

 

In the individual award categories, senior Elijah Ciani was picked as the Pioneer Division Pitcher of the Year for the second year in a row. Sophomore Ryan Leos was picked as the Pioneer Division rookie of the year. Head coach Jake Bates was honored as the Pioneer Division Coach of the Year for a second straight year. 

 

On the all-star teams, two Blue Devils were chosen to the first team, three others were honored as part of the second team, and the team also collected three honorable mention honors. The eight all-star picks was tops among all teams in the Pioneer Division. 

 

Ciani was joined by classmate Derek Holmes on the first team. Holmes has been named to the first team in consecutive seasons. Leos was included alongside seniors Cole Narolis and Zane O’Hara on the second team. The team’s honorable mention selections were Kohl Ingalls, Brian Gonzalez, and Connor MacArthur.
