Students in Mrs. Calabro's math classes welcomed the new school year with an activity. This allowed the students to think about numbers, apply them to their lives, all while letting the teacher get to know them better.

Today agriculture students got to learn from another agriculture educator in western NY, Mrs. Mitrowski! Mrs. Mitrowski creates a social media video every Friday explaining an agricultural fact to educate others! Middle school agriculture students learned the nutritional benefits of milk from the educational video made by Mrs. Mitrowski!
Camden High School FFA hosted their first meeting of the year today! Newly elected FFA president Luke Eveleth did an outstanding job leading the meeting. The most exciting part of the meeting was all the new and returning faces of Camden FFA!
This week is National Arts in Education Week! We're grateful to have a school community that supports our students in their artistic pursuits, and a group of staff and students that consistently create top-notch work in the visual and performing arts!

Our Graphic Novel section is quite possibly the most popular in the middle school library. Within it, student can explore almost every genre -- biography, science, science fiction, mysteries, family relationships -- you name it and it can be found in a graphic novel. These aren't their Grandpa's comic books! 💥 📕
Alan Gratz and Jennifer A. Nielsen are popular historical fiction authors with our students. We recieved these books in our recent order. If your student is a fan of historical fiction, tell them to come down and check out these recent additions!
Middle school agriculture students has "Therapy Dog Thursday" today! Students learned the difference between a service and a therapy dog. Students also learned how to train a dog to properly greet the public! The agriculture program gives students meaningful opportunities!
Tito, the guinea pig in Mrs. Willson's 6th grade math class, enjoys helping students during their W.I.N. period at Camden Middle School!
W.I.N stands for “What I Need” periods. They are a new addition to the program at Camden Middle School this fall. They are taking the place of ELA Lab, Math Lab, Learning Lab, and Guided Study.
W.I.N periods offer a flexible student-centered approach to learning, allowing teachers to group students based on their individual needs. This will allow our staff a better opportunity to provide targeted interventions and personalized instruction, and give students the support they need to thrive. And perhaps some time with a friend like Tito, too!

From the choppy and unpredictable waters of the Bering Sea, to the Camden Middle School Auditorium, Nick "Sunshine" Tokman certainly brought an incredible message to CMS students today! The former Commercial Fisherman and "Deadliest Catch" star talked about life on the open seas in one of the most challenging occupations on earth, while also weaving in plenty of anecdotes about perseverance and staying true to your authentic self.
Afterwards, he made plenty of time for autographs!

Greenhouse management students have spent the past 2 days building the hydroponic grow rack received through a "Donors Choose" project. The students are beyond excited to be doing hands on projects during the first week of class!
Auditions have begun for the 2024 Camden Middle School Musical, Willy Wonka Jr.! Over 40 students have turned out for the first day to start preparing for this year's production!
