Mr. Klatt and Mrs. Calabro's homeroom wears orange for Unity Day to promote kindness, acceptance and inclusion to send a message that no student should experience bullying.

High school FFA officers held an informational LDE presentation for interested FFA members today after school. Mary Hall and Kayla Winn not only went over the competition details for each contest but also showed the attendees how different competitions look like live!

The Camden Middle School Social Studies department is now up to $980.00 raised for their “Field of Flags” program, and sit just 20 dollars of donations away from another two dozen flags - or 96 in total! Through the support of the CCSD Community, they have almost doubled up their initial target of $500.00.

The “Field of Flags” program will create a powerful veterans’ day flag display at Camden Middle School, along with raising money for the Disabled American Veterans organization, which helps veterans navigate and gain access to employment assistance, education, financial benefits, healthcare, disability assistance, and other benefits they’ve been promised. They also provide transportation to and from VA facilities to ensure all veterans can get the medical care they require.

CMS Students will visit the display for a lesson on Veterans Day during their Social Studies classes on Monday, November 10th.

Here’s how it works:
1. Visit https://support.dav.org/participant/CamdenMiddleSchool.
2. Select the amount you’d like to donate. Currently, they sit at $60.00 of a $500.00 starting goal. For each $250.00 raised, CMS receives two dozen flags with the proceeds going to help DAV in their mission. Assuming they receive the first two dozen flags, the display will proceed as planned.

Get ready for a night of fun with Connected Community Schools and the Family Opportunity Center with Book Bingo! This free event takes place on Wednesday, October 29th from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Camden Middle School! There will be prizes and more, and you can bring the whole family! Our second Featured Guest Librarian for the month of October at the CMS Media Center is Jayden Bennet!

Greenhouse management students started planting lettuce today! The lettuce being planted is part of a year long project to provide fresh lettuce to the Camden OPEN Grocery Pickup every month! The project is called "Lettuce Support Our Community!"

Floral design students at CMS worked hard the past few weeks to create their own personal homecoming mums! Homecoming mums are a famous tradition carried out in Texas! CMS agriculture brought the Texas experience to students here in Camden!

We have New Featured Guest Librarians at the CMS Media Center! First up is fifth grader Ashlynn.

Camden high school FFA members traveled to Alfred State this week to participate in various leadership events and various FFA contests. Students were beyond excited to bring back to Camden FFA their new and innovative ideas!

Next week middle school students will be able to visit the Scholastic Book Fair during their lunch periods. It will be open from October 14-17.
