Alexa, play "Roundball Rock" by John Tesh.....
Our Unified Basketball team looked terrific in their Senior Day game last week! They'll be in action tonight at New Hartford, and again for their end-of-season event on Thursday at VVS!
Let's go Blue!

BASEBALL: Jamesville Dewitt 6, Camden 5 (Final). The Blue Devils erased multiple two run deficits, including one with the game on the line in the top of the seventh, but the Rams win the title in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the seventh.
The Blue Devils finish a terrific year as sectional runners-up with a 19-4 record. All four of the team's losses came by two runs or less.
Win or lose today, we are very proud of this group for what they have achieved this year.

Gameday for the Blue Devils as Baseball and Softball pursue Section III Titles in today's finals!
Get your tickets from the Section III Website at: https://section3.org/sports/2021/4/29/hometown-ticketing.aspx

Today, we celebrated Senior Day for the Camden Unified Basketball Team!
Organized in conjunction with the New York State Public High School Athletic Association and Special Olympics New York, the Unified Sports program provides an accessible and inclusive sports participation experience for students with intellectual disabilities.
In the Unified program, players with intellectual disabilities compete on teams alongside players without intellectual disabilities. Every student is given an opportunity to use their skills to contribute to the success of the team, and together, they unlock the power of pursuing a common goal.
Thank you to Nevaeh Myers, Haley Cook, and Madyson Austin for your contributions to the Unified Sports program. We were excited to celebrate you today!
The Blue Devils are coached by Ashley Chanatry and Sarah Falanga.

Our CHS Students absolutely rocked it at last night's concert! The Jazz Band, Saints, String Ensemble, Acouschicks, Orchestra, Concert Choir, and Concert Band performed to a near-capacity crowd and were terrific! Throughout the night, the ensembles recognized their seniors and their NYSSMA festival participants.

Postseason play begins tonight for Varsity Baseball!

The next few days are going to move along quickly for Blue Devil Athletics! Section III Tournament Play is here.
Also on Wednesday, catch Unified Basketball in action at home against VVS! That game will tip at 4:15 if you'd like to come support the team.

Some of the many highlights from this year's Senior Show at Wednesday's District-Wide Art Show! We were very impressed by what the Class of 2024 had to offer as we walked the halls at CHS, and the commitment to high quality work and attention to detail showed in each piece.

If you left the art show thinking about dinner, there's a chance our CHS students helped. Check out these appetizing sculptures from the Studio in Ceramics Class!

Over 20 CHS students from Mrs. Harney's MVCC Dual Credit US History Class, and a few tenth grade volunteers are out on their annual Florence Settlement Field Experience in the Florence Hill State Forest!
The Florence Settlement is a prominent local historic site that was once the site of a community of free African American farmers in the mid-1800s that was promoted through the efforts of abolitionist Stephen Meyers.
Meyers had secured land from fellow abolitionist Gerrit Smith with the purpose of creating a community where free Black People could own land, establish their own farms, and create economic and social opportunities for themselves in a time period where reaching these goals was especially challenging. It ran until about 1860, when pre-war tensions began to compromise the safety of the residents.
The students are assisting archaeologists with a survey of this historically significant site. Their late morning activity was to search and portions of the ground that show signs of human disturbance over a defined area. This is the sixth time Harney has taken a class here for a full day of field work.
Dr. Michael T. Lucas, Ph.D., the Curator of Historical Archaeology from the New York State Museum, has brought along a magnetic susceptibility meter to scan those areas. This device, in a very basic explanation, is a very sensitive metal detector that can analyze the surface it is scanning in greater detail.
More to come....

Pictures from Varsity Baseball's 7-3 win over CVA on Thursday. The Blue Devils were led by Ryan Leos, who went 4-for-4 at the plate and struck out eight over five strong innings of relief work for the Blue Devils.

One of our favorite features of the District Art Show is the Outstanding Junior Artist display. This year's honoree was Dolmae Honrales! If you've been following along with us lately, you may know that Dolmae recently had work exhibited at the Everson Museum in Syracuse, and our attendees were delighted to see more of Dolmae's quality work right here at CHS!

Getting ready to go at CHS for today's Mock Crash Demonstration. Juniors and seniors will have the chance to witness a firsthand account of the stark consequences that impaired, or even distracted driving can have.

Last night, we had a tremendous turnout for our 2024 District-Wide "Growing With The Arts" Art Show! Thanks to everyone who came to support our young artists at this incredible showcase of their talents!

It's shaping up to be a magnificent day for a ballgame! Join us as varsity baseball matches up with CVA, with eyes on building momentum for the postseason.
Section III Seeding Meetings are this weekend, so stay tuned for Baseball and Softball playoff dates and times!

On Friday and Saturday, the CHS Auditorium was transformed into a small, unincorporated piece of the Pine Tree State as the CHS Drama Club presented "Almost, Maine."
While the place was named Almost, we hope you had an absolutely good time.
Great job, cast and crew!

Join the CHS Drama Club for Saturday's performance of Almost, Maine! 6 PM. Free Admission!
