Introducing the CHS Spring Play.... "Almost, Maine" by John Cariani! The CHS Drama Club will bring two performances to the stage on May 10th and 11th, and admission will be free. Synopsis: Welcome to Almost, Maine, a place that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States. It’s almost in Canada. And it’s not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it almost doesn’t exist. One cold, clear, winter night, as the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine, find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream. Auditions will be held in March after the musical wraps up, with rehearsals commencing shortly after. If your CHS student has questions about the production, they can contact Stephanie Heath to learn more.

Every year, students from Camden High School submit a select number of artworks to the CNY Scholastic Art Competition. Since 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have recognized the vision, ingenuity, and talent of our nation’s youth, and provided opportunities for creative teens to be celebrated. Through the Awards, students receive opportunities for recognition, exhibition, publication, and scholarships. Students across America submitted more than 330,000 original works last year in 29 different categories of art and writing. This year, at the regional level, there were thousands of entries from more than 90 Central New York area school districts. Three students from Camden have received awards in this very prestigious competition. Dolmae Honrales received 1 GOLD KEY for her self portrait drawing titled “Euphoria” and one Silver Key for her watercolor painting titled “Serendipity”. Kaylynn Witzigman received 1 Silver Key for her watercolor painting titled “Aurora” Matt Melancon received 1 HONORABLE MENTION for his self-portrait drawing. This winning artwork will be displayed with the other regional winners at OCC through the month of February. Congratulations to Dolame, KayLynn, Matt and to all of the students who submitted work for the show.

Congratulations to sophomore Peyton Kelley on her fifth place finish at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association's 2nd Annual Girls' Wrestling Invitational. That finish landed on the podium in the 94 lb. division! She becomes Camden's second podium finisher after Rylie Meagher made it in the inaugural event. Meagher competed at 100 lbs, and Abigail Hebble was also in action in the 165 lb. division! The best is yet to come. All three athletes have years ahead of them yet, and NYSPHSAA is launching a formal State Championship in the sport for the next school year! Read More: https://www.camdenschools.org/article/1437551

It's Teacher Appreciation Night for the Mohawk Valley Jugglers ice hockey program! The Jugglers are a combined high school hockey program for students around Oneida County whose schools do not sponsor their own ice hockey teams, and Camden students are eligible to play as part of the team. Before tonight's 7:30 PM puck drop against the Syracuse Cougars, CHS students Brodie and Evan Buckingham have chosen to recognize Camden technology teacher Jeremy Calkins as part of the festivities! The game will be held at the Utica University Nexus Center.

The Camden Girls' Varsity Volleyball program recently held its senior night festivities for the Class of 2024! Senior players Brooke Musch, Avery Prievo, Leah Runion and Braelin Page, along with manager Kevin Gloude, have played an important role in positioning the Blue Devils at an outstanding 11-0 start, and building off the great strides the program made last year under head coach Katherine Migliori. The Blue Devils are just one of three teams in Section III Girls' Winter Volleyball to be undefeated at this point, and are the only unbeaten squad in Section III Class A! The team is set to be back at home tonight against ESM! Match time is set for 7 PM!
