The Camden High School Chapter of the National Honor Society had a quartet of special guests yesterday to discuss opportunities for volunteerism in Camden and the surrounding areas! Thanks to Mary and Jim from the Camden Lions Club, and Leslie and Julia from the Leslie's Laundry Foundation for coming to speak with our students about how they can make a difference in our communities!
On Thursday, January 8th, the Camden High School volleyball program partnered with the Camden High School Morgan’s Message Club to present the program’s second annual mental health awareness night at the Camden High School main gymnasium.
Between matches of a junior varsity/varsity doubleheader against Tri-Valley League opponent Whitesboro, a formal dedication ceremony was held in recognition of the Morgan’s Message Club mission, and in memory of the organization’s namesake: Duke University women’s lacrosse student-athlete Morgan Rodgers.
Rodgers died by suicide in July 2019 after years of mental health difficulties. The Morgan’s Message organization was created to honor her legacy and provide a framework for student-athletes to take a proactive approach to their mental health. It empowers student-athletes to support one another through their challenges, cultivate a supportive environment where needed support can be sought rather than stigmatized, and take ownership of the narrative surrounding mental health in athletics.
As part of the ceremony, Morgan’s Message Student-Athlete Ambassadors Kamryn Gloude and Aubrey Mitchell each spoke about the organization and its goals. Current volleyball student-athlete Lynzee Szczesniak delivered a powerful and courageous keynote address where she detailed her own challenges - a poignant reminder to all in attendance that they are never alone.
A resource table and message wall were also provided by the club for the evening, and the home team wore specially designed t-shirts for warmup activities. Those t-shirts will become a wearable reminder of the spirit of Morgan’s Message in the Camden High School hallways throughout the year.

It’s January, and that means it’s time for theatre students at Camden High School to start ramping up preparations for the upcoming Shakespeare Competition! Now in its 33rd year, the CHS Shakespeare Competition challenges students to step out of their comfort zone and develop their skills by preparing and performing monologues from the work of William Shakespeare. It is part of a larger national competition organized each year by the English Speaking Union, and Camden students enjoy access to the same advancement opportunities as others around the country.

Join the Camden Volleyball program and the CHS Morgan's Message Club for their second annual Mental Health Awareness game tonight! The Blue Devils will take on visiting Whitesboro in a pair of TVL matchups, with JV competing at 5:30 PM, and Varsity to follow at 7 PM.
The Camden CSD is on a 2-hour delay today, Wednesday, January 7, 2026, to allow more time for our roads and parking lots to be cleared. Our morning BOCES and morning Pre-Kindergarten classes are canceled for today.

Twas the week before Christmas in Miss Archibee's ceramics, three snow days in the way set in a panic. Yet with clay-covered hands and determination so strong, the students worked undeterred, finishing trees all week long!

Also turning in strong performances were Braylon Lyke with a 200 game and a 589 series, Garrett Grinnell with a 224 game and a 535 series and Alex Lallier with a 200 game and a 530 series. NH was led by JP Lazzaro with games of 257 and 244 and a 690 series.
With the win Camden improves to 4-1 on the season. They are in action against CNS on Monday.

It's Mr. Fiorini's birthday! The staff at CHS decided to fill his office with balloons, but there was a catch: They had to find balloons that were not specifically for a birthday! From "Congratulations" to "Get Well Soon", our CHS Principal has had to maneuver around an increasing number of balloons throughout the day as he comes and goes. Mr. Petrie even cut and sanded a wooden balloon for his desk!

The Camden Central School District will hold a vote on its proposed capital improvement project today, Tuesday, December 9th. Polls are open from Noon until 8 PM at Camden High School.
