The Board of Education of the Camden Central School District is accepting applications for the position of Superintendent of Schools. The search process will be conducted over the next several months.
The Board will be assisted in the selection process by Mr. Scott A. Budelmann, District Superintendent & Chief Executive Officer of the Madison-Oneida BOCES. All application materials were sent to Mr. Budelmann for initial review. Applicants are prohibited from contacting the Board or individual board members.
The Board will make all decisions concerning the selection process, the evaluation of candidates and the selection of a final candidate. The Board hopes to appoint a new Superintendent of Schools to assume their role no later than August 1, 2025.

Stakeholder Involvement
The Board of Education of the Camden Central School District is very interested in the input of its stakeholders, but the Board will make all search, selection and appointment decisions for the next Superintendent of Schools.
A. Employee Meetings: The Search Consultant has scheduled four employee meetings to provide information and answer questions about the search process and the Board’s efforts to select its next Superintendent of Schools.
B. Google Survey Opportunity: Between January 2 and January 23, 2025, stakeholders who are students, parents/guardians, employees, local business persons or community members, were encouraged to provide the Board with input through an online survey. That survey is now CLOSED. Thank you for your interest!
C. Stakeholder Advisory Committees: Through its Search Consultant, the Board will convene five Stakeholder Advisory Committees.
The Stakeholder Advisory Committees will....
1) Meet with the Search Consultant to discuss the characteristics they most would like to see in the next Superintendent of Schools
2) Conduct an Advisory Interview of the finalist(s) as determined by the Board. The interviews will be advisory in nature. The Camden Central School District Board of Education will make all search, selection and appointment decisions for the next Superintendent of Schools.
The Stakeholder Advisory Committees are as follows:
Administrators’ Union Stakeholder Advisory Committee: Consisting of up to ten Camden CSD employees selected by the President of the Administrators’ Union.
Teachers’ Union Stakeholder Advisory Committee: Consisting of up to ten Camden CSD employees selected by the Teachers’ Association President.
CSEA Stakeholder Advisory Committee: Consisting of up to ten Camden CSD employees selected by the CSEA President.
Confidential Staff, Department Heads, and School Psychologists Stakeholder Advisory Committee: Consisting of up to ten Camden CSD employees identified by the Superintendent Secretary / Board Clerk.
Parent/Guardian, Community Stakeholder Advisory Committee: Consisting of up to ten individuals selected by the Camden CSD Board of Education.
