The Camden Central School District is pleased to announce that it will be piloting a full day pre-kindergarten classroom for the 2024-25 academic year. This program was made possible through the resources provided by the grant funding that sustains our Universal Pre-K program.
Eighteen students will have the opportunity to participate in a full day Pre-K program on a trial basis. This optional program will be held alongside our existing half day classrooms at McConnellsville Elementary School. As with the half day program, transportation and daily meals will be provided for the full day pilot program, and the full day program will be offered at no cost to families.
The full-day program will follow, essentially, the same arrival/dismissal schedule as the Elementary Schools. They will ride the same buses to and from school as the K-4 students. Students residing in the CES enrollment area would receive a district-provided shuttle to McConnellsville from CES in the morning and at the end of the day.
If more than eighteen students declare interest for the full day pilot program, a lottery will be held to determine who will participate in the full day program. If your child is not selected, they will continue in their spot for the half day program as originally scheduled.
If you wish for your child to attend the half day program you already registered for, you do not need to take any action.
If you have already registered your child for the half day program, and are interested in the full-day program, you can apply to participate through this interest form
The deadline to apply is Monday, August 19th. If you have not already registered your child for Pre-K, you can find the necessary paperwork on the Registrar’s webpage.
