Mr. Calkins and Mr. Petrie had students in their DDP (Design Drawing and Production) classes get right to work on Thursday with a favorite first day activity: The Paper Tower Challenge!
The goal is to build the tallest possible free-standing structure using only three sheets of paper and 24 inches of tape. We saw a school record last year, and this year, the students delivered as the bar was raised even further by Gabe Grinnell and Colton Schuler! The pair built a tower that stood at an incredible 76.5 inches tall.
The previous record, set last year by Corbin Marsh and Brayden Seymour, was 73.5 inches.
Colton and Gabe will have their names added to Mr. Petrie’s “Wall of Fame” for their achievement.
