On Wednesday, March 26th, 37 seniors from Camden High School were recognized for their commitment to excellence in academics, and in their Career and Technical Education pursuits as the Madison-Oneida BOCES chapter of the National Technical Honor Society held its 2025 induction ceremony. The ceremony was held in the Vernon Verona Sherrill High School Auditorium.

NTHS is an honor society recognizing exceptional students in Career and Technical Education. To be eligible for membership, students must maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average in their CTE program and their high school and demonstrate excellence in extracurricular activities, character and community service. They must also receive a nomination for membership from their instructor. NTHS membership is a distinction achieved by less than 5 percent of CTE students nationwide.

Camden’s delegation was part of a record 203 area seniors inducted as part of the 2025 class. The newly-inducted members were sprinkled across 11 area school districts, and 24 different Career and Technical Education disciplines. The chapter has seen a record-setting trend in membership recently, and Camden students have played a huge role in that ascent. Last year, 23 Camden students were inducted as part of a then-record class of 146 new members. In 2023, 22 Camden seniors were selected as part of a group of 129 inductees.

New members receive an official NTHS membership certificate, the NTHS pin, a graduation tassel, graduation honor cords and a window decal. An official NTHS seal will be applied to each member’s high school diploma upon graduating. The inductees will have the privilege of wearing their graduation cords at their CTE completion ceremony, and at their high school graduation.

In addition to receiving their well-deserved honors, Camden students also played an active role in the ceremony. Criminal Justice student Katie Phelps led attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance, and EleanorAnne Kratz led inductees in the NTHS pledge.
