CAMDEN, NY - The Camden High School Drama Club presented their Fall play production of Little Women on Friday, November 4th, and Saturday, November 5th at Camden High School. The cast and crew offered three terrific performances for the local community to enjoy over a two-day period, and the Drama Club was pleased to offer free admission to this year’s production.
The production provided a refreshed take on the long-standing literary classic, “Little Women”, by Louisa May Alcott. Adapted by well-respected regional playwright Kate Hamill of Syracuse Stage fame, the play brings to life the coming-of-age story of four sisters on the edge of adulthood. Set against the backdrop of the American Civil War, the sisters are each trying to find their place in the world while dealing with the trials and tribulations of family life and an era-defining national conflict. Little Women was directed by Stephanie Heath and Amanda Hughes, along with CHS student Sydney Matthews. Jackie Stevens was the show’s producer, and the business manager for the production was Kim Dean. Amanda Hughes and Meaghan McDonell were the show’s choreographers. The show was produced under license from Dramatists Play Service, Inc.
