With over five feet on record in much of our area, Mother Nature kept the Camden Central School District community fairly busy with snow removal to start the new year. As residents worked to get their driveways and sidewalks in order, a group of thirteen District employees came together to tackle the large-scale task of clearing the lot at the Camden Central School District Bus Garage.
The group, primarily from the District’s facilities and transportation departments, took on this task on what was otherwise a day off after clearing their own residences. They put together an impressive day-long effort in hopes of getting our schools open on Monday, and managed to have a lot of fun along the way.
Ultimately, a Monday opening wasn’t in the cards, but the hard work went a very long way toward getting our buses back on the road and our schools open on Tuesday.
A special thank you to the following employees for their timely response, and on a job well done!

On Thursday, December 19th, the MV Jugglers ice hockey program hosted its annual Teacher Appreciation night! Each player had the opportunity to recognize a faculty member from their home school that has had a meaningful impact on their education.
As part of the evening, CHS students Brodie and Evan Buckingham were able to recognize Science Teacher Bob Wilson for his efforts!
The Jugglers are a cooperative hockey team featuring students from about a dozen area high schools, including Camden.
Come see the Jugglers at the Nexus Center on Friday at 7:30 PM, or Saturday at 1 PM.

Congratulations to CHS sophomore Evan Buckingham on being selected as one of Notre Dame's "Jugglers of the Week" for the week spanning December 16th to 22nd!
Along with his brother, Brodie, Evan is one of two CHS students playing ice hockey through the Mohawk Valley Jugglers program based at Notre Dame. The program is a cooperative effort with students from dozen area high schools, including Camden.
In a huge 7-1 win over LaSalle, Evan stopped 34 of 35 shots for the Jugglers under the bright lights of Union College's Messa Rink. He made 28 saves in a loss to Niskayuna the following day.
Looking for a day out of the house? The Jugglers return home on January 3rd and 4th for a pair of games against schools from the Albany area. Their home games are typically played at the Utica University Nexus Center. Friday's game is set for a 7:30 start, and Saturday's contest is scheduled for 1 PM.

Ozzy break?
Yes, Ozzy break.

3rd graders in Miss Lis’s Art IFA class at CES recently displayed their key stories and artwork. To develop an appreciation of each others' work, they took a little gallery walk around the classroom! We can't wait to see what you create in 2025!

JV and Varsity Girls' Basketball celebrated the season with their annual Christmas Eve breakfast!
Of course, the occasion wasn't complete without a few Blue Devil hoops alumni stopping by to join the group!

When author John Schu was at Camden Middle School, he signed all of the book covers that were displayed on our bulletin board by the Media Center.
CMS Readers: Keep tracking your reading minutes over winter break in Beanstack and you may be randomly chosen to receive one of the signatures. See you in 2025, Readers!

Before break, the Camden High School FFA held its Christmas party. About 20 students attended! The Camden High School FFA is growing its membership each week!

On Friday, we were pleased to welcome magician Cris Johnson for a morning assembly with our Elementary School students and staff!
