We recently told you about our 2023 NYSED "Seal of Biliteracy" students. On that topic, here is a little Thursday throwback for you. Senora Doran passed along this picture as well of her 2022 award recipients, who were the first to earn the honor at Camden High School. A year out from their graduation, we hope each one of these great students is doing well today.
Due to poor air quality, the Connected Community Schools Large Games event will be canceled for today. They are sorry for any inconvenience. Connected Camden Community Schools hopes to see you next week for the bird feeder craft on 7/6/23 from 10-12pm at Camden Elementary.
Over the last two years, students at Camden High School have had the
opportunity to earn the New York State Education Department’s Seal of
Biliteracy. The Seal of Biliteracy program recognizes students who can
demonstrate proficiency in English, along with another global
language. The seal is a credential that is affixed to a student’s
diploma, and can be used in the modern job market to demonstrate this
especially valuable skill to employers later on.
Congratulations to the following 2023 recipients, pictured from left
to right: Morgan Keil, Connor Perrotta, Brianna Henderson, and Jacey
Hinds.
Congratulations to Camden music teacher Jennifer Guhin on being nominated for the Manilow Music Teacher Award for our area! Join Connected Community Schools and kick off the summer with this fun craft activity!
While it's been a week, it still feels like yesterday.
Thursday, 6/29 at Camden Elementary will be a great morning to get out and play with Connected Community Schools!
Special thanks to the Camden High School band, under the direction of Mr. Donaleski, for once again adding a special musical touch to our graduation ceremony last week. Our ceremony is better for having each one of you performing, and we're excited for the day the favor is paid forward to each one of you when you walk for your own diplomas someday.

Congrats MES Class of 2023!
More graduation pictures? Yes, that can be arranged!
Pull up a chair and have a listen to this wonderful performance by Mr. Rudka. Somewhere, we know Greg was singing along with a smile.

On Tuesday, McConnellsville Elementary School held its moving up ceremony for its fourth grade Class of 2023!
Congratulations, Bobcat Alumni! We look forward to seeing the next chapter at CMS!
We hope to be able to pass along a few more pictures from this event soon.
Our elementary-level students had a GREAT time dancing and playing along with Downbeat Percussion yesterday! You can see the full ensemble this Fall at Buffalo Bills games out in Orchard Park, NY.
The CES Student Council recently met its fundraising goals to support student events and celebrations, and students were rewarded for their support of the council with a very special event on Wednesday.
If the Council met its goals, Mr. Ferretti and Mrs. Mitchell agreed to be duct taped to the gymnasium wall, and were very good sports about it as students and staff took turns applying sticky strips of tape to hold their building leaders in place.
When the students and staff were finished, the step stools supporting our two participants were removed, and students were amazed to see their building administrators being held up on the wall using only the power of duct tape!
Stay tuned for more from this event, coming soon!
This morning, we had the honor of hosting Downbeat Percussion for a morning assembly with CES and MES students! Downbeat Percussion is an incredibly talented professional drumline that also happens to be the official game day drumline of the Buffalo Bills.
They played some tunes for the students while demonstrating many of the concepts students are already learning about in music class, such as rhythm and sound dynamics.
They invited students up onto the "stage" to perform with them, and then played several of the students' favorites for an on-field dance party!
We'll have more to share later on.
