For the second time in her career, and her first time in a NYSPHSAA tournament with State Championship status, sophomore Rylie Meagher is on a state-level podium! Rylie will take home a sixth place finish from the 120 bracket for the 2026 season. Way to go!

McVille didn't have all the fun - There were also some aspiring centenarians wandering around Camden Elementary for the 100th day of school!

McConnellsville Elementary students dressed beyond their years today as part of their 100th day of school celebration! The assignment? Dress as if you're 100 years old. These two definitely carried out the plan to perfection!
When you get a lot of snow, you learn to make your own fun with it. And Camden Elementary School does exactly that each year with its annual WinterFest celebration! This year’s celebration was held on Thursday, February 26th. Students participated in sled races, relay races, and a bubble activity with Connected Community Schools. They also enjoyed delicious hot chocolate! Special thanks to the CES PTO for making today magical for our students!

100 Days at McConnellsville also means "Dress Like You're 100" day - even for the staff! Do you recognize either of these honorary centenarians?
Happy 100 Days from Miss Stone's classroom at Camden Elementary School!

Mrs. Mitchell's third grade class at CES is celebrating the 100th day occasion with special glasses and some snacks!

Wednesday's "Look at Me, I'm Three" meeting was a bear-y good time! Look At Me, I'm Three! The group completed a mindfulness breathing exercise to get ready for story time, which featured "Bear's New Friend" by Karma Wilson. The group talked about how making new friends makes the heart feel good. Then it was time for crafts. Each student completed a friendship heart and practiced "sewing", which is great for fine motor skill development.
A lesson about lining up was incorporated into snack time to help our young learners get Pre-K ready, and the night ended with some music and dancing. This group of learners has shown so much growth, and we're looking forward to what the coming months bring too! Pre-K is right around the corner!

Our boys' wrestling state qualifiers are on their way to Albany!

These guys are ready to knock 'em down at the Section III Individual Bowling Shootout!
Seniors Braylon Lyke and Ayden Gerow, and junior Alex Lallier will put their first shots down in a matter of moments. Good luck!

This morning, Camden is sending four competitors to compete at the Section III Bowling Individual Shootout Event at Strike-N-Spare Lanes in Syracuse! This tournament is an individual championship, including a qualifying pathway to the state tournament. Bowling begins very shortly at 10 AM. All bowlers will complete a six game series today, with the top 50 percent of participants (or Top 10, whichever is greater) advancing to the Shootout Finals next week.
The top six bowlers in Division I and Division II will qualify for the state tournament.

Today's the day. Two Blue Devils hit the mat in the 2026 NYSPHSAA Girls' Wrestling Championships at Albany's MVP Arena! Wrestling starts at 9:30, but you'll need to keep an eye on the mat assignments to see when our student-athletes will compete, as it's dependent on the pace of other matches taking place.
Sophomore Rylie Meagher is the 7th seed in the 120 bracket. She will battle Isabella Juliano of Bay Shore in bout #39.
Senior Astro Johnson is unseeded at 185, and will meet Bethlehem's Charleigh Eick in Bout 95.

Across theatre and sports, it's a busy weekend in Blue Devil country. Amidst the flurry of challenges and opportunities ahead, you may not find anyone quite as busy as CHS senior Gage Grinnell. On Friday, Gage and the CHS Musical Cast open their production of "Big Fish" with a 7 PM performance, where he is starring in the lead male role as storyteller extraordinaire Edward Bloom.
That seems busy enough for one day, but on Saturday, it all goes up a notch. On Saturday morning, Gage will briefly switch characters - and eras - as he takes part in the Syracuse Regional Shakespeare Competition hosted by the Syracuse Branch of the English Speaking Union. As Camden's school-wide champion, he will perform a Shakespearean Monologue, and a Shakespearean Sonnet for the judges. The winner advances to the national competition in New York City.
Once the competition is complete, he will head back to Camden for two more "Big Fish" performances. A 2 PM matinee, and a 7:30 PM concluding performance.
Whether it's on our stage, or at Syracuse Stage, best of luck this weekend from all of us!

In March, the "Let's Play" two-year-old program will once again have two sessions, to be held on Wednesday, March 4th, and Thursday, March 5th. Each session will begin at 10 AM.
Offered in partnership with Family School Navigation (Formerly Ready 4 Kindergarten), the “Let’s Play” program is a free monthly program for two-year-olds and their families. It consists of a monthly one-hour block of play-based learning and socialization with parent/guardian involvement. It is offered with the aim of progressing into the “Look at Me, I’m Three!” program for the following year, and creating a two year skill development on-ramp into Pre-K programming.
To be eligible for this program, a student must reside in the Camden Central School District, and must have reached the age of two on or before December 1st, 2025.
RSVPs are required each month. Spots are limited, and will be on a first-contact, first-serve basis. Early RSVPs are also more likely to get their preferred day to attend. To reserve your spot, or if you have questions, contact our Family School Navigator, Patti Ferretti, at 315-245-2616, extension 5200, or at pferretti@camdencsd.org.
