The Let's Play Program is growing! Due to incredible demand, we will now have two sessions: Wednesday, November 12th, and Thursday, November 13th!
Offered in partnership with Family School Navigation (Formerly Ready 4 Kindergarten), the “Let’s Play” program is a new, free monthly program for two-year-olds and their families. It consists of a monthly one-hour block of play-based learning and socialization with parent/guardian involvement. It is offered with the aim of progressing into the “Look at Me, I’m Three!” program for the following year, and creating a two year skill development on-ramp into Pre-K programming.
To be eligible for this program, a student must reside in the Camden Central School District, and be two years old, or reach that age on or before December 1st, 2025.
Participation for this first meeting will be limited to 15 children, and will be on a first-contact, first-serve basis. Additionally, choice of date will operate on the same basis. RSVPs are required each month. To reserve your spot, or if you have questions, contact our Family School Navigator, Patti Ferretti, at 315-245-2616, extension 5200, or at
pferretti@camdencsd.org.

On Thursday, the CHS Admin Team organized a building-wide scavenger hunt to build teamwork and community among the staff. Clues were sent out throughout the day, and teams sent representatives on the hunt to find the right spot. The social studies department was victorious and enjoyed a lunch of pizza today during the professional learning portion of the day. Teams also got a glimpse of our spruced-up auditorium as preparations continue for the upcoming production of "It's A Wonderful Life"!

During the week of October 31st, the Camden High School Unified Fine Arts Club held its first meeting of the year to get into the holiday spirit! The club came together to produce a step-by-step Haunted House drawing!
The Unified Fine Arts Club was created as a parallel to our successful Unified Sports programs. In Unified Sports, students with disabilities work alongside students without disabilities to achieve a common goal together - and that spirit translates beautifully to the arts. Throughout each meeting, students create together. They collaborate on ideas and work on practical solutions together to produce a finished project that they can take home! And along the way, each student makes a few new friends, too!

Have more candy than you know what to do with? Consider bringing it to McVille for their Candy Takeback Program! The program collects candy to forward on to deployed military members so that they can enjoy an extra taste of home throughout the year. If you're interested in donating, send it in with your McVille student, bring it in, or contact Shelley Malenowski at

This week is Red Ribbon Week (October 23rd to October 31st). The Red Ribbon Campaign, founded in 1985, is the Nation's longest-running drug abuse awareness program. Since 1988, Red Ribbon Week has stood as an occasion to educate about the dangers presented by drugs, and encourage all youth to commit to a drug-free lifestyle in the long term.
As part of this year's celebrations at CHS and CMS, our CFLR Prevention Specialist, Ambur Kowalski, arranged to have Reality Check visit during lunch periods to speak with students about the dangers of vaping and how marketing targets youth. As part of the week, students created drawings and wrote pledges reflecting their commitment to staying drug-free.

Mrs. Christmas had a 6th grade pumpkin painting party with her ELA students! To get there, students had to hold up their end of the deal. Every student needed to receive an 80 percent or better score on a recent test, and the class delivered on their word to earn this reward! Way to go!
