Don't blink! It has already been a week since junior prom, and it sometimes feels like it was yesterday. We hope the Class of 2025 had a great time!

The moment you've all been waiting for.....
And might we say.... to give you a hint.... "Please sir, I want some more?!?"
All poetic phrasing aside, the CHS Music Department is pleased to announce that this year's Camden High School musical will be..... Lionel Bart's "Oliver!"
Save the dates: March 1st and 2nd! Come and join us for this splendid musical re-telling of the Charles Dickens classic "Oliver Twist".

Just four shows remain on the board for the 2024 CHS Musical! Mr. Klepadlo was the most recent special guest to take some shows off the big board!
Will it be Oliver? My Fair Lady? The Pajama Game? or Once Upon a Mattress? Stay tuned!
Oh.... by the way, it's as good a time as any to remind you to come and see the CMS Musical, Finding Nemo Jr!
Come support our students and bring the kids for some family-friendly entertainment that all ages will enjoy at Camden Middle School. Showtime for Thursday (11/16) and Friday (11/17) is 7 PM!

The Camden Varsity Basketball programs will be hosting their annual Hoops Fest event on Friday, November 17th at 6 PM! Come meet the teams, see their skills, and witness a rematch of last year's epic Cops vs. Coaches game. Admission is free!

It's Back!
The Camden Central School District is pleased to renew an important health and wellness opportunity for District residents with the return of its “Winter Walking” program for the 2023-24 school year. Members of our community are invited to get out of the cold and stay active during the winter months as we provide a safe and climate-controlled place for you to get your steps and miles in, without the hassles of a long drive to the gym.
This exciting program returns on Friday, December 1st at Camden Middle School, and will be held Monday through Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Walking will not be held on school holidays, weekends, or snow days. We will also not be able to host this program on the following dates: December 4th, December 6th, December 13th, March 11th, March 13th, or March 20th. In addition, we may need to close to walkers on December 14th, but the District will follow up on that as that date gets closer to confirm.
Want to participate? Here are some guidelines to re-familiarize yourself with:
Walkers should use entrance “H” near the cafeteria on Third Street.
All walkers are required to sign in and out.
There will be a notice at the sign-in desk if the building is not open for walking.
You must remove any wet boots or shoes to help keep the floors clean for our hard-working custodial staff.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
When you are finished, you must promptly exit the building at or before 7:30.

CES Orchestra students are working hard on learning to play with their bows! For the last couple of weeks, students have eagerly been practicing correct bow technique in preparation for Mrs. Guhin’s “Jingle Bell Challenge”! To earn the Jingle Bell Challenge certificate, students must play their Jingle Bells solo, with their bow, by Christmas break.
Keep an eye out for some pictures in December of those students who have accomplished this goal!

Wednesday's Q&A session with Rick Yarosh of Sweethearts and Heroes was a wonderful experience for our CMS students!
The students got a chance to go back and forth with Rick on several topics that helped them understand his experiences. Rick, of Windsor, NY, was a five year veteran of the United States Army who had his life changed forever by an IED explosion during a tour of duty in Iraq. He travels to schools with his organization to spread his message of HOPE (Hold On, Possibilities Exist).
As an added bonus, we had the opportunity to see his Purple Heart up close and personal today, which is an especially powerful reminder of what it takes to serve with Veterans Day taking place over the weekend.
We would like to thank Rick and his associate Tom Murphy for spending the last two days with our students, and our students for being an incredibly supportive and engaged audience.

The CMS Media Center celebrated World Kindness Day by finishing a StickTogether collaboration puzzle featuring a dove and the word "peace."

Today all CMS students had the opportunity to see the powerful Sweethearts and Heroes presentation. Ask your students what H.O.P.E. means (hold on, possibilities are endless) and about the ABCs that they learned. The presenters Rick Yarosh and Tom Murphy also donated enough food for 25 families for Thanksgiving dinner. It was an AWESOME day at CMS! We're looking forward to what tomorrow brings with this group!

This Thursday and Friday.... just keep swimming until you reach the CMS Auditorium. If you reach 42 Wallaby Way in Sydney, Australia, you may have also found the right address, but we'll let your imagination decide.
Disney/Pixar's Finding Nemo Jr. will light up the CMS Stage with both show days featuring a 7 PM performance. Come support our students. Admission is FREE!

The Adirondack Experience Museum recently visited the 4th grade classrooms at Camden Elementary School to teach them about the NYS Fur Trade. Students were able to touch and learn about pelts, artifacts and natural resources. They also used their bartering skills to complete a trade simulation activity.

Ahead of the Veterans Day observance, Mrs. Davis welcomed a special visitor to her classroom at CES. On Thursday Nov. 9th, her class got to meet Capt. Kevin Davis from the 174th Attack Wing and learn about his most recent deployment to Kuwait & Saudi Arabia.
We thank you for your service!

On Tuesday, November 21st, Oneida County, Rome Health, the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports, and the Rome City School District are hosting this free community seminar. It is open to anyone who would like further education/training on the topic of vaping.

On Monday, CES Student Council members helped spread some extra kindness on World Kindness Day! They hung posters around the school and dropped off treats to each classroom!

Dive into the big blue world of ocean life with the CMS Drama Club as they present their Fall 2023 Musical, Disney/Pixar’s Finding Nemo JR! Please join us on Thursday November 16th or Friday November 17th at 7pm. Admission is FREE!
Synopsis: Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean.

We will be holding another FCC Affordable Connectivity Program sign-up night at Camden High School. Come on out to the CHS Library on Thursday, November 16th beginning at 5:30 PM to learn more about the program. Under the Affordable Connectivity Program, parents/guardians of currently enrolled CCSD students are eligible to receive a monthly discount on their internet service of up to 30 dollars through a participating provider. They are eligible because we serve free meals to students under the Community Eligibility Provision. Numerous popular providers are included in this discount. You may also be able to receive a one-time device purchase discount as part of this program. (Restrictions apply).
To register, you will need to bring some information with you, which is detailed in the attached flyer. That information will be used to provide you with an eligibility letter certifying that your student is enrolled with us that you can use to receive your discount. You will need this letter to be able to get your discount in this manner under the Community Eligibility Provision.
We will have devices on site that you can use to register, or you can always take your eligibility letter home along with program information to sign up at your convenience. Contact Lauren Platt (lplatt@camdencsd.org) if you have any questions. Even if you don't have a student with us, you may still qualify under a variety of criteria. Visit getinternet.gov to see how you may qualify.

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dedicated bus driver, Robert Rowell. Rob, a member of the CHS Class of 1983, has been an invaluable member of our district staff since 2019. He has played a crucial role in ensuring the safe transportation of our students each day.
Rob was always a friendly face and a person who demonstrated tremendous pride and commitment in serving our students and community. That dedication extended outside of his working hours as a volunteer first responder with the Florence Fire Company.
During this difficult time, our thoughts and condolences go out to Robert’s wife, Colleen, his family and countless friends. We understand that his loss is profound, and we want to express our deepest sympathies to all who were close to him.
May Rob rest in peace. He will be missed.

Congratulations to our Prom Court!
Prince and Princess - Thomas Potter and Piper Snyder
King and Queen - Colton Harrington and McKenzie Allard
Last year's King and Queen, JJ Barrett and Bailey Sharron, were on hand to help with the coronation.

Today, on the 11th day of the 11th month, we pause to reflect on the commitment and dedication of our armed forces veterans. Whether you're in our community, across the country, or around the globe, your work has made a difference for the greater good. Thank you!

Getting ready to go for Junior Prom March!
