This August, Oneida County Youth Bureau will be holding a youth fun and fitness run!
Who Can Participate: Youth Ages: 4-13 Age Categories: 4-6 (1/4 mile), 7-8 (1/2mile), 9-10 (3/4 mile), and 11-13 (1 mile)
What: A Youth Fun and Fitness Run where youth in the above-mentioned age categories will participate in a race held on the grounds of Mohawk Valley Community College’s (Utica Campus) outdoor track.
****IN THE EVENT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE YOUTH RUN WILL BE MOVED INSIDE TO THE MVCC JORGENSEN ATHLETIC CENTER****
When: The race is schedule for Thursday, August 10th, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. To Pre-Register for this event call (315) 798-5027 or on-line at: www.ocgov.net/departments/youth-bureau/
Registration for this event begins at 9 a.m. The first race begins at 10 a.m. followed by all other age groups competitive run. The event will conclude by 12 p.m. Youth and their families will take advantage of educational presentations before and after their run(s).
Where: The run will once again will be held at Mohawk Valley Community College located at 1101 Sherman Drive, Utica on their outdoor track.

At last week's CMS eighth grade dance, student Isabella Vollmer had a pretty special surprise visitor. Connor Vollmer '21 came home on leave from the United States Army, and decided to surprise his sister by attending Friday's dance.

Congratulations to Jacey Hinds and Connor Perrotta on being honored at last night's (Monday, 6/12) Section III Scholar-Athlete Dinner!
180 athletes from the Section were recognized as being among the top scholar athletes in the area. To be eligible, the athlete must have an overall academic average in high school of over 92 and must have played at least 2 varsity sports in their junior and senior years.
Award winners received a $100 scholarship check, a personalized plaque and a scholar athlete 1/4 zip jacket.
In addition, Connor Perrotta was also selected to receive the Section III "Coach D" Achievement Award.

Who Can Participate: Open to all youth ages 9-12.
What: A Baseball Clinic at Murnane Field in Utica where youth ages 9-12 can participate in sharpening/improving their baseball skills. This years’ clinic is presented by our hometown 2023 Utica Blue Sox Players and Coaches. Equipment needed for participation includes a baseball glove, bat, and batting helmet.
When: The Baseball Clinic is schedule for Friday, July 14th from 9:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Registration for this event begins at 9:00 a.m. To Pre-Register for this event call (315) 798-5027 or On-Line at: www.ocgov.net/departments/youth-bureau/
Where: The Baseball Clinic will be held at Murnane Field in Utica.

A wide range of awards across multiple class years were presented last night at the 2023 Awards Night Ceremony at CHS! Academic achievement awards, college scholarships, and the CHS Female Athlete of the Year award were among the honors on the docket, and Mr. Centner did his senior interviews as well!

Congratulations to CHS Senior Gianna D'Amico! Her New Visions Government class from Madison-Oneida BOCES was recently selected as the second place winner in the New York State Rural Schools video contest, and they will have their work on display at that organization's summer meetings in Cooperstown.

Connor is the top overall seed in the pentathlon at this weekend's NYSPHSAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Middletown, NY. As of their latest update, NYSPHSAA says the meet will run on schedule starting tomorrow.

We had an awesome time at last night's CHS Drama coffee house! We hope our seniors cherished every moment of their last time performing on the CHS stage as students, and it was great to see some of our recent grads back supporting the program as well.
