Parents/Guardians: Did you know that if you have a child currently enrolled in the District, you are eligible to receive a discount on your monthly internet bill and more?
Join us at Camden Elementary School on the evening of Thursday, October 19th for an informational meeting and registration event for the FCC's Affordable Connectivity Program!
As a Community Eligibility Provision School District for food service, our parents/guardians are automatically eligible to receive a discount through a participating provider. Many popular providers are participating. The program arranges for participants to receive up to $30 off your monthly bill.
Lauren Platt is our coordinator for this event. If you have questions or are unable to make next week's event, reach out to her at lplatt@camdencsd.org and she can point you in the right direction to get started.
While next week's sign-up event is for parents/guardians, you may still be able to qualify for this program through a variety of other criteria, even if you don't have a student with us right now. The FCC's Affordable Connectivity Program website can tell you more about eligibility criteria besides the Community Eligibility Provision, and give you an idea on how you can get started. The website for the program is located at: https://www.fcc.gov/acp

This afternoon, the Camden High School theater classes wrapped up their fall Monologues and Dialogues! This two-day event features Theater I and Honors Theater students performing a short memorized work of their choice. For some students, it's their first taste of on-stage performance, while for others, it's a great chance to fine tune their presentation skills ahead of the upcoming Fall play!

Folks! Turf is beginning to go down at the new baseball field behind CMS! How exciting!

One of the highlights of Homecoming Saturday is the soccer alumni game! Past players from our soccer programs (and a few coaches too!) gathered at the new multipurpose turf field to play a friendly game, and the rain didn't hold back any of the intense competition that took place!

Pictures from Saturday night's game! Thanks to Emily Petrie of Valley View Studios for taking these, and our own Michael Petrie for passing them along. These are great!

On Wednesday, October 18th, we will have our next meeting of "Look at Me, I'm Three!" The fun begins at 5:30 pm, and runs until approximately 6:15 pm at Camden Elementary School.
"Look at Me, I'm Three!" is a free pre-K preparation program for students residing in the district who are three years old, or will reach their third birthday on or before December 1st, 2023. At each monthly meeting, you and your child will have the opportunity to work on basic skills for entering Pre-K, and meet their future classmates and teachers in a fun and informal environment. Sessions often include a reading activity, crafts, and a story.
As an added bonus, we will have sign-ups available for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library at this month's meeting! The Imagination Library is one of the largest book-gifting programs on the planet, and registering your child for this free and optional program allows them to receive a book through the mail each month until their fifth birthday!
We hope you're as excited about our second meeting of the year as we are to host it!
If you will be joining us for the first time, please contact Patti Ferretti at pferretti@camdencsd.org and let her know you're coming. This will help with planning activities.

A quick guide to getting started with HUDL is available at https://www.camdenschools.org/o/ccsda/article/1222781.

CAMDEN! The day has arrived! Share this schedule to spread the word on today's events. Spectator/shopper admission is free.
The Copper Wire Run does carry a registration fee to participate. Race officials have indicated on the event's website that they are taking race day registrations. We would suggest you arrive early to get that squared away if you are interested in running this morning.
We are operating today's events rain or shine as it stands right now. Bring rain gear, an umbrella, or anything else you may need to feel comfortable.
We appreciate your support! Go Blue Devils!

Tomorrow!

For today's Superintendent's Conference Day, we welcomed #MOBOCES Staff and Curriculum Development specialist Jon Cornue to Camden High School!
Jon spent the morning presenting to our CHS science faculty about the Next Generation Science Standards for the high school level. In their afternoon meeting, faculty will have the opportunity to share thoughts and ideas about what they learned this morning!
A huge thank you to Madison-Oneida BOCES for sharing their region-leading curriculum development expertise with us today!

Our facilities team is hard at work updating the Friends of Camden Central School Foundation plaques in the high school lobby!

On Thursday, we wore pink!
During their match against Holland Patent, the Camden girls varsity soccer team wore specially-made uniforms with pink numbers in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The match also featured a pink ball on the playing field.
A special thank you goes out to the program at Holland Patent for their partnership and their full participation in this important initiative!

Today may be a Superintendent's Conference Day, but we're keeping the Camden Spirit Week vibe alive for another day. Who is ready for Saturday's homecoming festivities?!?

We had the luxury of a fantastic day of weather for CHS PepFest, and the students brought energy to match!
