The NHS Trip to Washington DC featured an appearance by a familiar face. Hannah Crossman '15 was the group's unofficial tour guide for the day. Crossman, a former NHS member herself, has been working in DC as a member of the office staff for Representative Pat Fallon (R-TX-4th). Of course, the chapter brought along a few tokens of appreciation from home to say thank you. The officer slate presented their gifts in front of the Washington Monument!

The people are real. The cases are real. The rulings are final. Just ask Judge Judy, who was kind enough to take a break from the bench to join us at today's CMS Living Wax Museum.

We had some BIG TIME hockey players at the CMS Living Wax Museum! A miniature version of Team USA Alternate Captain Megan Keller was out and about, as was The Great One. They don't have to go far to find the talk show circuit, as Oprah was also close by!

On Thursday, April 4th, the Camden Middle School upper gymnasium transformed into a bustling gathering of celebrities, dignitaries, and historical figures… sort of. Sixth grade students were able to step into their shoes for a few hours as part of the annual Living Wax Museum event. The Living Wax Museum is a project that challenges students to learn more about a person that interests them through research. Students prepare a biographical poster presentation, and all the while, they prepare to play the role of their chosen figure. The project is a tremendous tool for helping students develop research and presentation skills they’ll need throughout middle school, high school, and beyond!

Being part of NJHS means leading by example. Some of Camden Middle School's NJHS members recently did exactly that by coming to Camden Elementary School to read to students! The CES community would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Donaleski for giving their young learners this opportunity to work with some peer role models, and to Mrs. Kiser for her help with scheduling. They're looking forward to the next visit!

Ahead of the upcoming solar eclipse, we were fortunate to host a meteorologist from the National Weather Service today! He started his day at McConnellsville Elementary, where he showed students how an eclipse works and stressed the importance of following safety guidelines when viewing this rare event! Our students were a terrific audience and asked great questions! We also held assemblies for students from Camden Middle School and Camden Elementary School today. We're a bit over a week away from seeing a total eclipse in action right in our community!
